Full height Conservatory walls

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

At www.diyconservatoryquotes.co.uk we keep being asked if we can cater for full height conservatory walls well the answer is yes. Its quite an easy thing to do for us the usual height for a wall is around 27 courses and all we do is design your conservatory window frames 30mm higher than the wall to allow for the thickness of the cill. This means that the ring beam runs straight round the top of the wall and out onto the top of the frames. As long as you have made the wall turn around the right size for you or your builder everything will be fine. If you are unsure about any of this just ask one of our technical guys or better still give us your measurements and we will make it work for you.

Can I extend my current conservatory ?

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

In a word “YES” but its not going to be the easiest of jobs. To start with you need to go back to the original firm that you purchased it from and then give them the option to quote for the work. This is for a number of reasons, they will have your original drawings and will be aware of any system upgrades from the profile company that you have decided to have an upgrade from.

I would say however in most cases it is far easier to take the original one down and start again. The complexities of joining two separate roofs and making sure that everything matches and looks fresh and clean will be a tall order for most companies. If you are going to consider having an upgrade on your original conservatory the cheaper option may be to keep any existing walls that you require and take down the measurements of any door apertures that are present.

Using www.diyconservatoryquotes.co.uk free quoting service you can soon see the project costs and we will be more than willing to work with you to any bespoke dimensions.
